So, when I was brain-storming for a couple of neat projects for the Winter edition of Make, I thought of what my perfect winter afternoon would entail. My thoughts first went to cuddling up with my girls in a cozy spot of our home with a good book and some hot chocolate. So here’s a recipe for a very yummy and creamy hot chocolate. I’ve also got a tutorial for making a pretty little bookmark.
Yummy Hot Chocolate
I’ve included the recipe for the hot chocolate below. It’s super rich and creamy, so a little goes a long way. When we made it I used a combination of milk and dark chocolate, but you can use whichever chocolate is your favourite.
Lovely Little Bookmarks
These bookmarks are so easy and something fun for older littlies to do. I started with a piece of ribbon for inspiration. My ribbon is from Sasha at the Gilded Bee. She has the most amazing collection of crafty supplies and the parcels she sends are a delight to receive.
Once you have your ribbon (18cm), pick 3 pieces of contrasting felt, and a button (or two) to accessorize. You’ll want to cut one rectangle of felt (5 x 15cm) and 3 circles of felt (6cm, 4cm and 3cm in diameter). Assemble as above and sew together with embroidery thread. Trim the ribbon so it just overlaps the felt and use a hot glue gun to fasten the ribbon down.
Does that make sense? I hope so. I didn’t realise how difficult it can be to write a tutorial and make sense!!
