As I mentioned in my last post, many things have been happening over the last week… I recently finished the course Blogging Your Way by Holly Becker and Leslie Shewring. The course was both inspiring and illuminating and has enabled me to put my many swirling thoughts into a tangible form.
These are a few images from a mood board I put together as part of the BYW course. As a really visual person, I found it so useful (and interesting) to come up with a cohesive look using objects that I had on hand.
What does this mean? I’ve been thinking long and hard over the last couple of months about how to reorganise the blog so that it works for me as the creative outlet it was always intended to be, but also has a bit more focus so it holds more meaning as a whole, and what I hope will be a really valuable resource for like-minded people.
To begin with this space, A Happy Adventure, was a place for me to express what I believed to be the sum parts of my passionate and creative being… a place where I could write about those things I loved – the things that inspired me most – a combination of family life; thoughts about travelling the world and explorations into creativity…
And as I wrote, and blogged and shared my love for various topics, I found myself more and more drawn to this aspect of ‘Making Magic’…
nd above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it. – Roald Dahl
So, over the next few weeks (probably right up to the new year, as we enter the crazy festive season!) I’ll be rearranging things, giving the blog a new look and slowly refocusing things so that this idea of Making Magic is at the core of everything I do here… and hopefully seeping into real life too!
If you have been joining me on this adventure since the beginning, thank you so much – connecting with you in this space, and finding kindred spirits has meant so much to me… and I hope that you find this new direction speaks to your heart, as it does to mine.
I think that reinvention is a natural part of life – as we grow and learn. Personally, I feel like I’m in a constant state of evolution. How about you? Have you been making any changes in your life lately? If you feel like sharing, I’d love to hear about it – stories of change fascinate me!
P.S. the fantastic ‘A’ I used in the Roald Dahl quote comes from an amazing website I recently discovered: Daily Drop Cap… by Jessica Hische. The project was devoted to ‘prettifying the internet’ – mission accomplished, I think!?
