  2. Cherish (a hope, belief, or ambition)

I am a mama.  A wife.  A daughter.  A friend.  A woman.  I think that in all of these roles nurturing comes naturally.  On a daily basis I consider the best ways for me to nurture myself, my family and my friends.  Nurturing is innate in my being.  It is what I love to do.  It makes me feel connected.

Nurture is about cherishing all those moments of connection with your loved ones – and turning them into something special.  In amongst those daily things you do because they just have to be done, like chores and routines, as well as the more pleasurable tasks like sharing a meal and goodnight stories, there are all sorts of opportunities to create magic and smiles.

When I think about nurturing I think of birthdays and Christmas and picnics at the park – of holidays and magical moments.  I think about teaching my babies about the world and bringing them up to be thoughtful and creative and wonder-filled.  I think about morning routines that set us up for happy days and good-night rituals that make for happy dreaming.  I think about nourishing my loved ones’ bodies and souls.

I want to share my life with you, and hope that you will share yours with me.   Join me in exploring how we nurture our selves, our families and our friends.

Celebrate is all about family rituals, traditions and magical moments.  From those tiny rituals that are so natural you don’t even think about them anymore (like butterfly kisses to say good morning to your bubbas), to momentous occasions you look forward to all year (like all those special moments that mark the lead up to Christmas).

In the Celebrate series I’m going to explore the importance of rituals and traditions in our lives.  Discuss how to create a sense of wonder and magic each and every day and provide inspiration for celebrating specific moments and occasions.

Make is a series that I hope will provide you with lots of inspiration to cook and create crafts with your children based on the various occasions that we celebrate each year. From the welcoming of each new season to the big holidays such as Valentines, Easter and Christmas, I will draw on this wonderful inspiration to provide you with ideas of how to connect with your family through creative crafts and cooking.

Get Action Pack - Craft and Creative Activities for Kids 7+

An amazing resource for getting your bubbas’ creative craft on is the Action Pack mini-mags by the amazing Kathreen of Whip Up.  The mags are aimed at kids 7+, but that hasn’t stopped me from snatching each one up as soon as it is released (Ava is still 4 years away from 7 – but I now have some more grand plans and many of the ideas are adaptable for little ones with some parental assistance!)  Maybe the best thing about the Action Packs is that they are chock full of goodness and still only $5 an issue… you must check them out! Grow is a series based on the values I want my bubbas to grow up with.  From courage, caring and perseverance to creativity, citizenship and gratitude: there are so many important values at the heart of happy and successful people.  With this series I hope to provide you with a valuable resource, providing inspiration and discussing how to teach our children to develop the values they will depend on throughout the course of their lives.  I love the idea of fleshing out these ideas online and hearing from you as to the values you find important and the ways you teach your bubbas to grow.

The Love Letters series is a collection of  letters/pictures/thoughts for you, my lovely readers, so that I can share with you those things closest to me… thoughts on Mama-hood and lovely husbands and every day life in general.  It will be a space when I may just ramble along, letting you know whatever is on my mind at any given time.  It’s the series that you will probably see me at my most open and vulnerable.

Nourish is all about nurturing family and friends with food.  Let’s celebrate one of the simplest pleasures in life: eating.  I plan to dazzle you with my own recipes as well as some of my favie recipes from my favie chefs.  I’ll also provide you with some ideas for food and entertaining relating to specific occasions throughout the year.  Think of me as your go-to gal for suggestions of what to cook for a Mother’s Day Morning Tea, Valentines dinner or a spring picnic at the park.  Oh, and there’ll be some soul food too!
